"Chatting shit since 1985"

YOU ARE A WEINER!

Do you know what I hate the most about society today? Advertising. I don't think that there's anything in particular wrong with it, on the contrary I think it's a brilliant invention; it's the best thing since sliced bread (and believe me, they had some brilliant advertisers working on that one!).

No, my beef with advertising is it's becoming too forceful.
If you have ever watched the episode of Futurama where they go online and get attacked by ads you'll understand what I mean.

I prefer advertising to be subtle and to the point. I despise adverts for cars, fragrances, mobile phones and super markets.

The first two rarely make any sense. Take the advert for the Citroen C4 for example.
If I had no common sense and no media knowledge I would think that if I purchased this car I could take it down to a frozen lake and it would transform and start skating! The advert also tells me nothing about the product. How many seats does it have? Does it have 4 doors? How advanced is the sound system?
All that we are told from this advert that would have cost a huge amount of money to make is that it is "Alive with Technology".

I'm not even going into why I can't stand perfume adverts. I just don't have the energy to type it all; besides, nobody reads this!

The reason I started this whole (let's call an egg an egg) rant is because of this advert that popped up while I was coming here to finish an entry I've been writing on the Web 2.0 world - when one of the most annoying adverts in the world popped up (to be honest I did mistype the address and got directed to a search engine).

The point I'm trying to make is that advertising is great -- as long as it's relevant and to the point.
